30/5/17: Miss. Crowley and Miss. O'Connell's second classes had a real treat today. As their teachers were so proud of all their hard work in getting ready for their First Holy Communion and because they were so good on Saturday Miss. Crowley and Miss. O'Connell treated every girl to Domino's pizza in the hall. We got our feast delivered to school just after big lunch. The girls had pizza, wedges and dippers.Afterwards we had a lucky dip bag where the girls could pick a sweet treat from the bag. Thanks to Paula for placing the order for us and to Claire and Mrs. Morris for providing us with the bottles of water. We hope the girls enjoyed their treat as they have been brilliant all year and we couldn't have asked for any more from them on the big day.

30/5/17: We finally got to hold the chicks today. We can't believe how much they have grown in just over a week. We'll miss them when they leave us on Friday. There are some really gorgeous photos here in this slideshow. The chicks bring a smile to everyone's face.

27/5/17: After months of hard work and preparation the big day finally arrived for second class as they celebrated their First Holy Communion. We didn't let the rain get us down as we enjoyed a beautiful ceremony led by Father Liddane. All the girls looked stunning in their communion dresses and were so excited their big day had finally arrived. They sung their hearts out and said their prayers and answered every response so well. Miss. Crowley and Miss. O'Connell were so proud of all their girls. Thank you to Father.Liddane and Sister Úna for all their hard work and dedication during the year. Thank you to Mrs. Morris, Lynn and to the teachers who came to the ceremony. Lastly a huge thank you to those girls from fourth, fifth and sixth who came to sing in the choir. Third Class Science Show:25/5/17

24/5/17: Not even with us a day and six of the seven eggs from Nore Valley Farm have already hatched. There was great excitement when we arrived into school this morning to hear the sound of chicks chirping away and running around in their incubator. Some were not that old as they still looked very wet but others were running around eager to explore. Then we were lucky enough to be there when chick number six came into the world. It was something very very special to witness and luckily enough we caught it on video. So we're waiting on one more chick to hatch which hopefully will happen in the next day or two. The next stage is to move them to the brooder where they will have bedding, water, food and a heat lamp to keep them warm. On Monday we can hold them which we are all really looking forward to. A huge thank you to Ms. Fitzgerald for organising the chicks to come to St. John of God. It is an experience we will never forget.
