Active Flag 2016/2017
"Welcome to the page for all things associated with the active flag we proudly achieved last May.This year we hope to continue being as active as possible. Just because our hard work last year paid off and we earned our active flag doesn't mean we can rest on our laurels.Mrs.Golden is still our school coordinator and has formed a new active committee for the 2016/2017 school year. The Active Flag is a whole school initiative and we want all the children and their parents to be involved as much as possible again this year. There will be lots of events ongoing throughout the year and all students and parents will be encouraged to participate. Our Well Done wall situated just passed the senior infant classroom is waiting to be filled up with active achievements big and small both in and out of school. Later on in the year sees the return of our Active Week which was a huge success last year where hopefully we will have plenty of active events both new and old for all the girls to participate in.
Check this page regularly to keep up to date with all things active.

15/9/16: There was great excitement in St. John of God this morning as thanks to Mrs. Golden Olympian Thomas Barr paid a visit to our school. All the girls and staff gave Thomas a very warm welcome. The active committee for 2016/2017 interviewed Thomas on stage and asked him lots of interesting questions about his career and training and how he felt on the day as he competed in the Olympic final. We were very lucky as Thomas raffled some Athletics Ireland hoodies and a girl from each class won. We finished off this special visit with a rousing rendition of Ireland's Call. ( I had videoed it but forgot to hit record !!! So sorry I can't share it here) Check out the photos below. Many thanks to Mrs. Golden for organising the visit and to Thomas for taking time out of his busy schedule to come this morning.
